Welch & Wandsworth Completes Merger and Publishes a New Website

COSTA MESA, Calif., September 3, 2026

Welch & Wandsworth has completed the merger of its principals' practices and now operates as a single licensed California general contractor under CSLB #1158507. A new website and a refreshed identity, published today at welchandwandsworth.com, were built in the same pass.

Jason Welch and Benjamin M. Davies have built together since 2006, more than 120 homes across Southern California between them. Until now, the work has carried two separate contractor's licenses. The merger consolidates them into one, issued to Welch and Wandsworth LLC, with both men named as principals.

For a homeowner, the change is small on paper and useful in practice. One license number to verify. One entity on the contract. One insurance file. The two people who show up on site are the same two people who always did.

The firm's roots go back to 1992, when both principals began working in construction in the United States. Jason Welch spent more than ten years in commercial redevelopment and shop fitting before co-founding the practice. He leads new construction and site work. Benjamin M. Davies came up through cabinetry and full residential kitchen and bath remodeling. He leads interior design and finish work.

Welch & Wandsworth builds the client's own architect's drawings. Homeowners keep the designer they came with. The firm takes only a few homes at a time, and both owners are on every site.

The site went up with it. Most builder websites ask a homeowner to take a claim on faith. This one was built so the claims can be checked.

The project pages carry photography room to room, across homes, interiors, kitchens and bathrooms, each project tagged by where it was built. The process is set out in five phases, in order, with what happens in the gaps between them, and with a plain explanation of what an itemized bid lets a homeowner compare against a competing one. A separate section covers Chapter 7A, the California code that governs building in a fire hazard severity zone: ember-resistant venting, Class A roof assemblies, tempered glazing, and the compliance file that has to survive an inspection. Welch & Wandsworth is bidding Altadena rebuild work.

The part that took longest is the news archive. Every release the firm has issued now sits on the site as a readable page, with the architects, engineers, designers and cabinetmakers credited on each project. Welch & Wandsworth builds other people's drawings. Crediting the people who drew them, on every project since 2006, is easier to show than to claim.

The identity was refreshed at the same time. A new wordmark, a monogram for the places a full name will not fit, and one credential line that puts the license on the firm instead of on either principal.
